St. Alban’s closed until 5 April in response to COVID-19. United in Prayer and Love.

Posted on Friday 20th March, 2020

In conjuction with the Lutheran Church, St. Alban's will be closed until 5 April. ACM, Messy Church, Lent Groups, Bible Study, Taize Prayer and any other meetings will be postponed until further notice. On 5 April, Palm crosses will be available to all visitors and passersby, even if worship takes a slightly different form. Even though worship has stopped for the time being, our presence and engagement with everyone has not. We are knit together in one great fellowship.

We have had our first broadcast service on 15 March  (Lent 3) and will be broadcasting the next one on Mothering Sunday (Lent 4) on 22 March. Please look out for it and join in if you are able to at 10.30. We will be a community gathered in virtual worship. Remember it doesn't exactly have to be at 10.30 on Sunday Morning. You can click on the link at any time.

We are united in prayer and love. We are keen to reach out to those who are lonely and isolated and we feel very concerned for those who are having to self-isolate or those who are overwhelmed by fear so please get in contact with the Ministry Team.

Home groups which have been meeting for Bible Study during the last year are already networking with one another in prayer and practical help but also meeting virtually. We are looking for further inroads so that group meetings can also happen where necessary. Resources for prayer at home will be available online shortly.

We would like to encourage any who are isolated to please let the Chaplain know if you would like to be put in touch with someone in your neighbourhood, for telephone visits, shopping/delivering food parcels . Reaching out to one another in this way will undoubtedly make a difference in these extraordinary times in which we are forced to adopt a "new normal" way of life.

This Sunday, the Church of England is encouraging everyone to have a day of prayer. In solidarity with one another and as a sign of hope, we are asked by our Archbishops to place a lighted candle in the window at 1900 hours. Please do so and send a photo to our Chaplain so that this sign of hope and encouragment can be shared widely.

We encourage all our members to take the necessary precautions by following the Danish Health Authority guidelines.

Please follow our social media sites for updates.

Let us Pray:

Creator God, we turn to you in this time of crisis. It pains us to be seperate as the Body of Christ. Allay our fears, quell our anxieties and help us to take courage that we are always one with You in prayer. Amen
