Helpers Needed For Repacking of Fete Tents, Friday 27th Apr 2018
Posted on Saturday 17th March, 2018
Friday 27th Apr 2018, Store Bededag
At
St Alban’s House from 0900hrs
Alternative Date Sat 5th May
Up to 30 willing volunteers are sought to help with the sorting, repacking and labelling of our fete tentage. Fete day is always hectic and not the time to be matching tent rooves to sides or poles into groups of equal length. Over the past few years new tents have been purchased but as is often with replacement products and they are not carbon copies of those that came before: once dismantled and stored together it is hard to tell them apart!
Many hands make light work and not all the tasks involve muscle power. Some of the smaller tents need grey matter and a creative approach to put them up and each complete tent pack will need colour coding and labelling that can be done by somebody with fancy rolls of tape and a pair of scissors.
Volunteers just need to come with willingness and energy - A sandwich, hot and cold drinks and some sweet treats will be available all day from the St Alban’s House kitchen.
Tents can only be worked on if the day is completely dry, preferably sunny. In case of bad weather the work day will be rescheduled for Saturday 5th May.
