Posted on Thursday 31st August, 2017

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a Children, Youth and Student Worker for our growing congregation. Mr. Joakim Steiner-Johnsen has been selected to co-ordinate and develop the Church’s ministry with children, young people and young adults.

A theology student at the University of Copenhagen, Joakim has previously worked for the Danish Bible Society and as a substitute teacher at Faaborg Sundskole. He has also assisted with confirmation classes and youth services at Faaborg Church and served as a tutor at the University of Copenhagen, integrating new students into the Faculty of Theology. His interests include running, football and table tennis as well as playing the drums, guitar and piano.

Welcoming the appointment, the Chaplain, the Revd Darren McCallig said, “We are delighted to have Joakim as part of the team at Saint Alban’s. He brings many gifts and qualities to this new position, and we are looking forward to extending our ministry to children, youth and students in the months ahead.”

Commenting on his new post, Joakim said, “I'm very much looking forward to working here at Saint Alban's. I'm so glad for the opportunity to be a part of the development of the church, and I can't wait to get started and get to know you all.”
