Annual Report 2016 Published

Posted on Wednesday 3rd May, 2017

The Saint Alban's Church Annual Report for 2016 has been published.

Writing in the Introduction, the Chaplain of Saint Alban's, the Revd Darren McCallig, described 2016 as an “extraordinary year” in the life of the Church.

“The year began with the launch of our ambitious Mission Action Plan (MAP) at the end of January. Archdeacon Colin Williams was on hand to set us on our journey with God’s blessing and encouragement for the road ahead … many of the priorities and targets set out in the MAP are well on their way to being realised. For example, in 2016 our electoral roll numbers continued to increase rapidly and are now almost one third higher than in 2014. The numbers attending services also continued to grow and grow, with average Sunday attendance in Copenhagen now almost forty per cent higher than two years ago.”

He then went on to thank all those who give of their time, their talents and their resources to support the mission and ministry of the church.

“Because of your enthusiastic involvement, Saint Alban’s Church is not simply a stop on the tourist trail or a piece of interesting Victorian architecture. Rather, it is a growing, diverse and active Christian community determined to witness to generous welcome, foster inclusive community, and engage in inspiring worship. Let us pray that — with the grace of God — we can continue to follow that call, and say together the words attributed to Dag Hammarskjold, the Swedish diplomat who served as Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1953 until 1961: ‘For all that has been, Thank you. For all that is to come, Yes!’”

A copy of the Report (in PDF format) can be downloaded here (2.5MB). Printed copies are available at the Church.
