Donations
St Alban´s is entirely self-supporting and receives no funds from the Danish and British States. We do not receive any funds from the Church of England either.
Because the UK Government no longer grants diplomatic status to chaplains abroad, church costs have risen considerably due to our new tax liability.
We would be very grateful, then, if you are able to make a donation towards our annual costs so that our important work can continue. We are clear as to what that work is:
- to enable English-speakers in Denmark to worship God as made known to us in Jesus Christ and to show through our lives his Gospel of love
- to serve the pastoral and spiritual needs of people and, through friendship and dialogue, to represent the Anglican Communion in Denmark
- to meet the spiritual needs of the many visitors who come to Copenhagen and wish to worship in English
- to work in partnership with all of goodwill for justice, equality and the common good.
Our costs cover maintaining the historic building, supporting a full-time priest, running the church´s work day to day, and supporting charitable works.
Making a Donation
Netbanking
You can make a donation through Netbanking. Our bank account is:
3121 – 4140 514 136
Envelope Scheme
You can also join the envelope scheme which allows you to reclaim tax on your contribution and allows us to budget more accurately. Under Danish Law you can deduct a total of 14,500 DKK annually from state taxes.
Other ways of giving
You may prefer to think about some sponsorship (from funding a church event to buying light bulbs, candles, or stationery, for instance). Or you may be able to make a practical contribution (eg a free plumber, electrician or gardener). You may be kind enough to remember St Alban´s in your will.
The Honorary Treasurer
Nils Mortensen is the Treasurer of the church and is always very happy to discuss, in absolute confidence, your financial contribution to St Alban´s. He may be contacted at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or via the Chaplain: 39 62 77 36.
Please support us in the ways you can.
