World Mission, visiting preacher Dr David Evans

On Sunday 16 October we focused on World Mission and were fortuante to have the Reverend Dr David Evans as our guest preacher. Dr Evans, the Director of Health for USPG Anglicans in World Mission had just returned from Malawi. Using Mark 16 “He is going on before you into Galilee: there you will see him”, he drew from it the message that God is there ahead of us and that we are called to be signposts to God through our response to the concerns and hopes for a sense of well-being and peace with ourselves, our neighbours, God and the world. He pointed to Jesus spending time among the people of Galilee who were considered by the society of that time to be of no account and reminded us that the poor and those living on the periphery of society are a priority in God’s mission.
