St Alban’s becomes member of Danish Mission Council Development Department
Posted on Tuesday 1st November, 2011
St Alban’s was granted membership of the Danish Mission Council Development Department (DMCDD) at the Council General Assembly in May. We are very pleased to have been accepted as members as it gives us the opportunity to work as part of the DMCDD in supporting their projects. The DMCDD was formed in 1986 in order to help the then 32 members of the Danish Mission Council with development issues. The character of development and the mission partnerships in development work has changed over the years. The DMCDD’s careful assessment of individual programmes means that their strategy to develop the capacity of their various partnerships, in order to strengthen the sustainability and local ownership of development efforts really does seem to have an impact.
With the Danish Lutheran Church’s signing of the Porvoo agreement last year and joining the DMCDD we feel very excited at the prospect of a long and fruitful association with our other new partners in mission. You can read more about the DMC on http://www.dmr.org or look see our October newsletter above under ‘publications’. Details about our outside giving can be be found under ‘outreach’ above.
