Rev. Jonathan LLoyd, was installed into his new role as chaplain to Saint Alban’s Church and to our Århus congregation at a spectacular service on Saturday 13th September.
Bishop David, the Suffragan Bishop in Europe, presided over the impressive service. The church was filled with well wishers from Saint Alban’s and several who had made the journey over from Århus. There were also numerous representatives from many different church denominations, the British Ambassador and a raft of other dignitaries as well as numerous visitors from abroad. Bishop Peter Skov-Jakobsen who was installed into his new post as Bishop of Copenhagen only a couple of weeks before, on the 30th August, was among the many prominent guests. The Roman Catholic Bishop, the Methodist Bishop and a representative of the Bishop of Lund were also present. The Old Catholic church, represented by our good friend Father Rickard Stenberg, and many of the Porvoo Churches also attended the service giving a clear visible sign of the special bond of friendship and communion that exists between this group of churches.
After the service concluded all the guests went into the church garden and enjoyed a champagne reception which members of the congregation had generously provided and arranged.
A number of photographs were taken during the service and at the reception which we hope you will enjoy looking at.
