An Epiphany Gift from Århus

Posted on Tuesday 8th January, 2008

Epiphany is the day when we remember the gifts given to the Christ child by the Magi. It seemed very appropriate then that on the Feast of Epiphany this year the congregation in Århus sent a beautiful present to the congregation of St Alban´s as a sign of friendship and fellowship.

The gift is a watercolour painting of the Erik Heide wood carving that stands over the altar in Møllevangskirken where the Anglican congregation have worshipped in Århus for over 40 years.

The watercolour was painted by Inge Marthin Sørensen (right), a member of Møllevangskirken. She presented the Århus congregation with it with her thanks for the ten Nine Lesson and Carols services she has attended over the years and has enjoyed so much. The Århus congregation were delighted and agreed with Inge that the painting should be sent to St Alban´s as a symbol of their shared partnership in the Gospel. The people of St Alban´s were very grateful and assured their friends in Århus of their continued prayers.
